FYI: National Insurance Institute (Bituach Leumi) Health Tax

A reminder to all new and not so new olim, health tax is free for basic health insurance for the first 12 months if you are not working.
After that you MUST go to the local Bituach Leumi office to arrange payment. Bituach Leumi does not bill.
However, if you are receiving an allowance from Bituach Leumi, the health tax will be deducted from that allowance.
Supplemental insurance is paid directly to the health fund and does not exempt you from paying for the basic health insurance to Bituach Leumi.
