Beer Sheva Driving instructor recommendation:

Driving instructor recommendation:

Miriam or Miki: 08-623-4234. They're across from the bus station.
Not the most glamorous office or nicest cars, but they tell you what
you need to know to pass, don't charge too much and help you get
the paperwork done. Which in the end is the important part:)
They both speak English.

English-language driving instruction booklet

You can get a copy of the English-language driving instruction booklet
at Steimatzky's, Tzomet Sfarim, etc. I found one in the Steimatzky's
on Ben Yehuda in J-em, they were just released in the last few weeks.
If the stores currently don't have it in stock, you can ask for them
to order it for you.

Neil Heyman-driving instructor in Raanana

Neil Heyman is a Ra'anana instructor who charges you for
the number oflessons you need to pass the test, no more, no less.

He has been an examiner, so knows exactly what you need.
I recommend him (and just passed my test in the last month).

Zamir: driving instructor in Rehovot

ZAMIR did a great job and only required two lessons.

Always find out how many lessons will be required before giving
the instructor your papers. Some of them will demand 10-20 lessons
if they think they can take advantage of you.

Zamir's number is 054-434-5300.

Getting your drivers license in 7 "easy!" steps:

The steps are the same for either car or bike...

1) Get the tofes yarok (Green form), pay fee.

2) Get eye and doctor's exams, pay fee.

3) Go to Holon and get permission to exchange license. Take along
your old license, the tofes yarok, your teudat oleh and teudat zehut.
(Unfortunately I don't remember the schedule for the window where you
get the stamps you need. It's 2 days a week (Mon and Wed, maybe?) in
the morning only. The clerk there will tell you how many lessons you
need. I've had a bike license for 23 years and I was required to take
6 lessons, that mostly consisted of doing figure eights in the parking
lot to fill time. Only one car lesson was required. My wife had a
second because she was still nervous after the first.)

4) Find an instructor to give your lessons and sign off on your
ability to take the test. They'll schedule it for you, pay fee.

5) Take the test!

6) Wait for results.

7) Pay fee.

The whole deal from start to finish was under 2 weeks for me, doing
them one after the other, not concurrent.

I wish you success!

Ayal-a patient driving instructor

I can recommend AYAL 052-553 3117.
He can teach manual & automatic (some instructors can
only teach 1 or the other). He's very patient & was able to
compare & clarify driving rules here vs. the states.
He also speaks English.

good luck
